Youbai Waterfall

This is the largest scale waterfall in Shiga prefecture.

The waterfall is about 76m high and the shape resembles the big tree of  Myrica Rubra that is Youbai in Japanese. Therefore it is named Youbai Waterfall.

As the area near the waterfall is clear, you can stand your camera's tripod at a nice position where you can get a close shot of the waterfall.


Youbai Waterfall is about 10 minutes away from the parking lot. There are many small waterfalls along the way with much greenery. It is a great place for hiking, even on a hot summer day.
